  1. Scrutinize content before sharing. Always, always read before you share. Make sure the content is well constructed, interesting, timely and relevant. What you share is a reflection of who you are as a professional.
  2. Don’t flood channels. “More” is not always better when it comes to content-sharing, so exercise restraint. If you indiscriminately post and tweet about everything you come across, people will, at best, ignore what you share and may even block or unfollow you. Providing updates once or twice a week is sufficient for heightening your visibility and making a lasting, positive impression.
  3. Include a comment. If you share an article on, say, LinkedIn, don’t just post the link. Include your own opinion of the article or highlight your favorite takeaway. To maximize the value of sharing, show that you’ve read the content, understand it and have your own unique thoughts about it.
