Description: Have you ever been asked a question during an interview that caused you to draw a blank? Interview questions can differ greatly from one employer to another, and you must be prepared to put your best foot forward. During this session, we will discuss the following topics:
- How to handle situational interview questions
- What to do if a question is inappropriate
- How to address a discriminatory question
- What to do if you don’t know the answer

Uncover Unadvertised Job Opportunities
Date: Tuesday, March 8th
Time: 3:00 pm EST (12:00 pm PST, 1:00 pm MST, 2:00 pm CST)
Description: When you are working you often hear about jobs that are available but not advertised. When you’re not working or in an active job search, these leads to unadvertised jobs could be the key to you accepting a great job. So often employers have someone on probation or need to hire, but have not taken the time to write up a job description or tell HR. During this session, we will address the following:
- Uncover unadvertised jobs
- Conduct a proactive vs. reactive search
- Why this must become part of your job search efforts
The lines will be open to address your questions following the training presentation.
Don’t Spend All Day on Your Computer
Date: Tuesday, March 15th
Time: 11:00 am EST (8:00 am PST, 9:00 am MST, 10:00 am CST)
Description: Sitting at home in front of your computer day in and day out answering job board ads and website postings is not the most effective way to conduct your job search. In fact, job boards and website postings are where you have the highest level of competition and the lowest rate of return on your investment of time and effort. During this session, we will discuss the following:
- Where should you go?
- What should you do?
- Who should you meet?
- Why this will provide you with better results in your job search.
The lines will be open to address your questions following the training presentation.
Answer “Tell me About Yourself” Like a Pro
Date: Thursday, March 24th
Time: 1:00 pm EST (10:00 am PST, 11:00 am MST, 12:00 pm CST)
Description: Most interviewers start interviews by asking, “Tell me about yourself.” The answer to this question is often included in a hiring authorities’ first impression and can often lead to you being either screened it or eliminated from the interview process.
You will be asked this question and need to practice your response, so you are comfortable with your answer. Instead of dreading this question, role-play your response with others and make adjustments based on the feedback you receive. It’s better to be over-prepared than to have your answer sabotage your interview. During this session, we will address the following:
- What employers look for in your answer
- How to effectively format your response
- Great follow up responses
The lines will be open to address your questions following the training presentation.
