Independent consultant looking to work on a contract basis in the areas of R&D and Quality for Food Companies in the Chicago metro area. Short-term or long-term projects.

Qualifications include:

• Ph.D. in Food Science plus a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)
• Over 25 years of work experience in the Food Industry (including but not limited to a wide variety of frozen foods and dairy products)
• Over 20 years of R&D Management experience
• Over 10 years of experience in the Management of Quality Systems
• Managed high-performance teams of over 30 people
• Knowledgeable in the area of Computer Information Systems
• Experienced in the management of patent and regulatory strategies

Rates in the $100-150/hour, plus expenses depending on the scope of work.

Having spent his entire career in Research and Development and Quality, he brings a unique perspective to each engagement and provides effective, sustainable and integrative solutions.

He quickly sees the big picture and is adept in solving technical and managerial problems. Leading the R&D group of a major Food Industry player to excel in the areas of new product development, process optimization and quality improvement. Experienced in dealing with major customers, suppliers and internal functional areas such as sales/marketing, manufacturing and purchasing. Very responsive, takes ownership of problems and drives towards results. A good team player and is capable of working effectively with a wide variety of people. In addition, he possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
