Summer Is Passing — Hiring Will Be Heating Up!
We’re more than halfway through summer! Hiring generally slows during the dog days, but as sure as “Back To School” sales are popping up, many employers are getting ready to ramp up their hiring activities. So, if you are open to new employment opportunities, it’s a great time to “sharpen your saw” and get in the game. Here are a few suggestions on how to do that.
Resume.
Make sure your resume is fully updated and that Kinsa has a copy. You can forward it to one of the recruiters you know at Kinsa, or to resumes@kinsa.com. Pro tip: make sure your resume includes your location, at least city, state, and zip code. Ideally, your resume should, also include your work authorization status (e.g., “US Citizen”) and whether or not you are open to relocation.
Job Alerts.
Set up notifications on Kinsa.com so you immediately hear about relevant new job opportunities. It’s easy – simply do a search using “Search Jobs” and then click the orange “Create Job Alerts” button. Pro tip: notifications will be sent to the email address you specify. Make sure it’s one you check regularly!
LinkedIn.
Make sure your LinkedIn profile is in order. This article can help. Pro tip: An incomplete LinkedIn profile or one with typos is worse than not being on LinkedIn.
The good news about these ideas is, they are largely “set it and forget it.” Which lets you enjoy the remainder of your summer!
